Dr. Merritt is a Pain Management specialist who is originally from Alabama. Dr. Merritt attended Birmingham Southern College, where she majored in Biology.
Dr. Merritt trained as a medical Practitioner at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. As a medical student, Dr. Merritt was outstanding; thus, she was selected for the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute- National Health Institute of Health Research Scholars program.
Dr. Merritt also worked for a year as a researcher at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Merritt undertook her Medical residence at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
After her residence at The University of North Carolina, she pursued fellowship training in pain management at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institute. Her training in pain management encompassed a variety of pain management techniques like;
- Pain medication management
- Interventional pain management
After fellowship, Dr. Merritt has practiced in a variety of settings, including Johns Hopkins. She volunteered and dedicated her time to travel to India, where she provided anesthesia for patients undergoing surgeries for cleft lip and palate.
During her free time, Dr. Merritt spends her time cycling in Yoga. She also dedicates her time to her family.

The reward recognized the Team’s effort led by Dr. Merritt, providing services with dignity, patient respect, and fairness. Indeed, her ultimate goal is to improve comfort and quality of life among patients in pain.
